Palm In Cambodia.

Palm trees have been grown in Cambodia for many years. They are long tree which have been found most in Takeo, Kamdal, and Kampong Speu province. There are several advantages of palm tree.

One advantage is that their leaves and branches are used to made roofs and other materials for using in homes. Some farmers do not have to spend much money on building. Moreover, their fruits are used for vegetable and making dessert, cake. Their leaves' and branches are not only used to make roofs, but also used for firewood. Their trunks are used some parts of the buildings and furniture with high quality.
For the most important point, each palm tree can give hundreds of lines of palm juice make palm sugar which is delicious and have no chemical substance. Palm wine is also used for drink instead of wine, beer.

In my conclusion, I think that every part of palm trees useful for Cambodia people, so we have to prevent and plant more.

Palm Tree is the kind of tree regarded as national symbol. Most of palm trees have been grown in provinces such as Kompong Speu, Kampong Chan and so on. Most of people like to drink palm juice. Palm juice is a traditional Cambodian drink. Research shows that the fresh palm juice contains Vitamin B, C, D and is full of mineral, such as Ca, Fe, Mg, P, K, Zn. Drinking palm juice everyday will promote healthy living.

Unfortunately, the sugar palm tree is still a victim of illegal mass logging. Thus, in order to preserve these trees and to participate in the development of the economy of Cambodia. The local private company has approached the modern technology to transform local palm juice into tasty and hygienic finished products complying with European and American organic rules (NOP) as well as other international food standards.

Products made from palm juice are Ginger palm wine, Pineapple palm wine, Cocktail Mekong, Kiry palm liquor, natural palm juice, and palm vinegar.
